Cai enjoys an extensive involvement in music education, currently teaching both online and in person at Ursuline Preparatory School in Wimbledon and at his home studio in Carshalton, London. He is a former Head of Brass at Shrewsbury School and has taught at St Catherine’s School, Bramley as well at for Brent Music Service. He has delivered workshops for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, Live Music Now, Education Group, and was a cornet tutor for the National Youth Brass Band of Wales. With London Chamber Brass he developed a highly successful brass quintet workshop which has toured various schools across County Cork, Brent and North Wales.
Having come through a thriving youth music system in Anglesey, North Wales as a youngster- he’s passionate about ensuring that young musicians today are given the same opportunities as he was afforded, taking great pride in watching pupils grow as musicians and striving to constantly inspire them to improve. Enjoyment and appreciation are taught along side great understanding of all technical aspects of the instrument in all lessons. Often praised for making learning a fun environment, he uses new concepts and creative learning processes, which have been learnt as a pupil to some of the world’s finest trumpet players and teachers.
